Anathea Simpkins is a longtime Greenpoint resident and vice president at the nonprofit Sandy Hook Promise. Anathea is a dedicated working mom and a passionate advocate for mental health and education who aims to unite the community against the tides of division, special interests, and hypocrisy, to bring back balance and reason to our democracy. A former teacher, she is especially concerned by the radical agenda adopted by her local community education council, that seeks to implement a socialist and anti-Israel agenda in education.
